Projects
LIST OF ON-GOING PROJECTS
Global foundations for reducing nutrient enrichment and oxygen depletion from land based pollution, in support of Global Nutrient Cycle (GNC Project) Component B4. “Development of regional models of coastal effects under different physical regimes using regional data.”

Objectives:
Develop nutrient source impact models for the Manila Bay watershed including a database for the watershed, a river export model, a hydrodynamic model, and a water quality model.
Coastal Assessment for Rehabilitation Enhancement:Capability Development and Resiliency of EcoSystems (CARE-CaDRES) Project 1a. Updating Coral Reef Baseline Data in the Western Philippine Seas (WPS) – Chemical Oceanography
Objectives:
1. To conduct initial assessment and mapping of coral reef habitats in the Western Philippine Seas, including reefs in the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG), the shelf reefs of the western Palawan Shelf, Tubbataha Reef, Apo Reef, parts of the Verde Island Passage, Masinloc and Zambales; and
2. To study physico-chemical and other biological factors which can help understand the geomorphology, distribution and observed patterns in community structure of the coral reefs in the project sites, including general circulation patterns (currents, eddies, etc.) around reefs and wave
In house project
Objective:
To update of baseline chemical oceanographic data of the of the West Philippine Sea
